FAIRFIELD, Conn., Sep 06, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Acme United Corporation (AMEX:ACU) today announced that two of its products, the Westcott(R) Brand iPoint(TM) Pencil Sharpener and 9" Titanium UltraSmooth(R) Spring Assist Scissors, have been selected as winners of Learning Magazine's 2008 Teachers' Choice Awards(sm) for the Classroom. The Teachers' Choice Awards(sm) is one of the most prestigious in the educational market, distinguishing the best products to use in the classroom.

Founded in 1994 the Teachers Choice Awards is the only awards program exclusively judged by teachers in the classroom. The awards program has grown to become one of the most recognized and prestigious honors in the education industry. The program is committed to providing teachers with practical, hands-on tools to enhance their lessons.

Walter C. Johnsen, Chairman and CEO, said, "We are delighted to have been selected for this award. It's an honor to have our products recognized by teachers for their quality and performance. This is a confirmation of customer acceptance of our well designed and innovative products." Mike Peterson, Vice President Marketing, added, "the iPoint is a breakthrough product that is redefining the pencil sharpener market. Teachers, students and parents appreciate the performance and great value from a product with Titanium Bonded(TM) blades and hands free operation. The iPoint automatically feeds the pencil to the Titanium blades and once at the perfect point the pencil automatically ejects - a hands free operation that makes sharpening a pencil a pleasure versus a chore."

These award winning products are available in retail stores and through many of the leading commercial office catalogs.

ACME UNITED CORPORATION is an innovative supplier of cutting devices, measuring instruments, and safety products for school, home, office and industrial use. Its leading brands include Westcott(R), Clauss(R), and PhysiciansCare(R).
